The West Coast Consortium for Technology & Innovation in Pediatrics (CTIP) is an FDA funded MedTech accelerator supporting pediatric device innovators from concept to commercialization. As a CTIP portfolio members, Alerje is connected to a national network of clinical, scientific, regulatory, as well as business experts.
We've been intentional about engaging with the food allergy community that we aim to serve. We had the opportunity to pitch at the inaugural Food Allergy Fund Summit and most recently attend the 5th annual University of Michigan Mary H. Weiser Food Allergy Center. Here's glimpse of the feedback/excitement that we received as we shared more about our innovation.
We're happy to announce that Alerje has been accepted into the inaugural Backstage Accelerator cohort in Detroit! There were over 1,800 applications from around the world, with an acceptance rate of less than 2%. The program starts next week 3/12. We're honored to be a part of such an awesome program!
Earlier this month, Alerje was one of 8 companies selected for the 2018 MedTech Innovator Chicago Regional Pitch Competition. We had the opportunity to present to and receive feedback from judges including investors, providers, and senior executives from leading medtech companies such as Johnson & Johnson, Baxter, Molex, and many others. Based on feedback, there's a chance that we could be selected to advance to participate in the MedTech Innovator Accelerator and/or Showcase Program. Alerje happened to place in the top 3 at this event, so we're hopeful we'll be given the opportunity to move forward!

Next, we were proud to support the 4th annual University of Michigan Mary H. Weiser Food Allergy Center Spring Luncheon. The luncheon benefits a mission of improving the lives of food allergic individuals by conducting comprehensive research that will significantly improve patient care and expand food allergy education, research and community services.Both events gave us incredible insight and feedback from some of our most key stakeholders, patients, providers, and a few payers. Alerje was well received!
